The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio

Adjala-Tosorontio was created in 1993 by merging the two separate townships of Adjala and Tosorontio. It is a rural township of farms, country homes and small hamlets in Simcoe County, north and west of Alliston and east of the Niagara Escarpment.

Its communities include Loretto, Everett, Colgan, Hockley, Rosemont, Glencairn, Lisle, Sheldon, Keenansville, Ballycroy, Athlone, Achill, Airlie, Cedarville, Connor, Tioga and Tuam. Many were settled by Irish Catholics who named their hamlets after home towns in Ireland or pioneer families. Loretto is one of the larger communities, with Haley Park and Sheldon Creek Dairy nearby.

Homes here are mostly detached houses on large lots, often a half acre or more, and many are on well and septic rather than municipal services. That is normal for the township, and it is one of the first things a buyer should understand before making an offer.

Read the average with caution. Only 8 homes sold in September 2026, compared with 9 in October 2025. With so few sales, one high-priced sale moves the average a lot. The median, down 5.0 percent, is the steadier read on prices in Adjala-Tosorontio. In plain terms, prices softened modestly rather than dropping sharply.

13 Joseph St, Loretto, sold $865,000 on October 5, 2026. 3 bed, 2 bath, 1,279 sq ft bungalow, sold as is.

10 Catherine St, Loretto, sold $969,000 on September 11, 2026. 4+1 bed, 3 bath, 2,111 sq ft sidesplit on a 101 by 326 ft lot.

Only three Loretto sales in that price range since August 1, which is itself a finding: Loretto is a thin market, and pricing has to rest on the few sales that exist, not on a township average built from 8 sales.
