The Village of Schomberg
Schomberg is an unincorporated village in northwestern King Township, in York Region. It sits at the junction of Highway 9 and Highway 27, about 50 kilometres north of Toronto, just south of the border with Simcoe County. Its main street is York Regional Road 76. The village is north of the Oak Ridges Moraine and south of the Holland River, surrounded by rolling farmland.
Schomberg was first settled around 1830 as Brownsville and later renamed for the Duke of Schomberg. It has kept its historic Main Street character, and the village core is a Heritage Conservation District. The Schomberg Fair grounds sit at the corner of Highway 9 and York Regional Road 27. Highway 9 links the village to Orangeville and Newmarket, Highway 27 links it to Barrie and Toronto, and Highway 400 is a short drive away, which makes Schomberg practical for commuters who want a village, not a suburb.
Homes here range from heritage homes on the old Main Street to country properties on large lots and acreages in the surrounding King Township countryside. Many sit on well and septic, and lot sizes are often measured in acres rather than feet.
Schomberg Market Snapshot
There are no Schomberg-only market figures published by the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board. TRREB reports by municipality, and Schomberg is one village inside King Township, so no Schomberg-specific sales, average price or days on market figure exists to quote. Any page that gives you a Schomberg average price is making it up.
That means pricing in Schomberg is driven by individual comparable sales, not by a town average. A heritage home on Main Street, a country property on 19th Sideroad and a new build on the edge of the village are three different markets, and each one has to be priced on its own recent sales. For sellers, Jamie provides a market analysis based on recent comparable sales in Schomberg and the surrounding area, not a generic estimate.
